H.O.P.E RECONNECT - ON THE ROAD · VILLAGES, MARKETS & STREETS

These photographs were taken on the roads between Siem Reap, the villages, and Tonle Sap over several days in 2007.

I was a French photographer traveling by tuk-tuk through the countryside with a camera and a bag of keychains. Every time I photographed someone — a child, a family, a merchant at the market — I gave them a keychain as a thank you. Not money. A keychain. If you remember a French man with a camera giving you a small keychain somewhere on the road, at a market, or in your village — this might be you.

The photographs include children and adults in the streets of Siem Reap, along the roads through the villages, at food markets, and on the water near Tonle Sap.

The children were between 3 and 15 years old. They are now 22 to 34. The adults are now in their thirties and forties.

If you recognise anyone — a classmate, a neighbour, a family member, yourself — please fill out the form below. Every identification matters.
